Lubix On Twitter

Greetings.  We wanted to let everyone know that we are now on Twitter, and invite you to join us.

I know we’ve been hard to reach outside of emails (sorry), but we would love to be more active with you.   We plan on having multiple media sites where you can interact with us, and I’m also looking at being able to add a forum or chat page on our site as well depending on the capabilities of the web client I use.

As our business grows, it makes sense for our customers to be able to purchase Lubix products through other stores in addition to ours.  We have recently spoken with several US and International based stores, and have received great feedback on this idea.  We are finalizing the details this week, and will update you here with a list of authorized stores that will be working with us.

The Ultimate Lubix WitTwo!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are proud to offer our first non 3x3 cube... The WitTwo!

I got a demo of this cube recently, and was VERY impressed with how it performs.  I believe that this cube will be more popular than any of it’s predecessors because of how well it performs. 

It is a 3x3 core design, with a Dayan style corner piece.  Because this piece is similar to all Dayan corners, they are completely closed on the internal sides and don’t need caps.  Neat design.

There is one corner that remains fixed. On our cubes, it’s the [Red White Blue] corner with the Lubix Logo.  This corner remains fixed to the core, and the other sides orbit around it.

It adjusts like a standard 3x3.  They rounded the inner points of the corners near the center screw, so that they don’t catch on each other and cause the cube to lock-up, or damage your stickers.

The internal / bottom part of the corners are so large, that I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to pop this cube or get the spanners (the 12 pieces that gap the centers internally) to mis-align or pop out.

Corner cutting is HUGE.  over 45º...  almost 60º  before it either locks, or turns into a reverse corner cut.

Reverse corner cutting is adequate, but not amazing.  About 25-30º

It’s larger 51mm size, makes it feel more like a small 3x3, and makes it very easy to control.

It’s feel is clicky, and very similar to the LingYun.  I prefer this on a 2x2 as it makes it more controllable and prevents accidental slices, and overturns.  Each turn really locks into place.

For our preparation on these cubes, we completely disassemble, fix the RWB corner to the core, do the Ultimate lubing technique, Lube the core (3 rotating sides) and internal surfaces.  We tension it to a good speed/performance spot, and put our Lubix Logo on the RWB side.

Side note.  I got a new PB with this cube on the first day of using it.   1.63   :)

As many of you know, during the holiday seasons shipping can take a bit longer than expected.  We are doing our best at getting your orders out as quickly as possible.  Usually within 1 day of ordering, unless the USPS is closed such as on Saturday/Sunday.  From there it’s up to USPS to get it to your door. 

So you all know, on domestic order, you receive tracking information the moment we ship.  On international orders, you do NOT receive tracking information, rather shipping confirmation instead.  Tracking on international orders is cost prohibitive from the US. 

Also, to help us get orders out efficiently please use standard Western Characters.  If the name or address on your Paypal has special characters, or is in a different language we may need to email you to get the information in english slowing down the shipping process.

Lastly, I am offering the Lubix ELITE on our site.  I have stop limits on my inventory, so if it shows sold out, please check back with us in a few days.

Cube Features:

Same size as original GuHong.

Corner design has been changed over to the ZhanChi 3 piece design. (no more tri-bits)

Center caps have been changed slightly, and fit nice and tight with no modification.

Edge Pieces have been re-designed to fit the standard Dayan Torpedos.

Pieces that remained the same: Center Pieces, Core, Hardware, Stickers.

It is a slight bit heavier due to the Torpedos.

This cube has the same features as our Lubix Fusion, with the pop-proof design.

We will be preparing these cubes with a 48 point edge mod, and will be pre lubricated this cube with Lubix Silicone using our Ultimate method. (Internals, core, surfaces)

We currently have both Black and White body cubes in stock.

Roux Tutorial Videos

Hey guys, I’ve added my YouTube series Donovan’s Roux Tutorial and CMLL Page to the site.

This is the first time I’ve done a tutorial for a method so I hope that I haven’t made too many mistakes.

Although the Roux method is traditionally broken into 4 parts:

(1) Left Block - (2) Right Block - (3) CMLL - (4) LSE

For instructional purposes I have it broken into 5 parts:

(1) Left Block - (2) Right Block - (3) Corner Orient / Permute - (4) Orient Edges - (5) Cycle Edges

Inventory Update

Hey folks.  Wanted to let you know that we have added the following cubes to the site:

Also, I have found information on adding a chat client to the site here, and will be implementing this fairly quickly.  I’ll need to test it, and also check with my web host to be sure I don’t run into problems with bandwidth.  So keep your eyes peeled for that update!

ShoutBox Widget!

We have added a ShoutMix box on our site that will allow you to chat with other cubers and friends, as well as with the staff of Lubix.  Have questions?  Now both our team, as well as other customers can help answer them. 

How nifty is that?

I’m still not sure where I will be placing this chat feature on the website... perhaps on the contact page?  Perhaps leave it here on the main page?  Perhaps you can simply chat with us, and let us know where you think it should go!

Over the next few days expect some tweaks to this as I get it dialed in and tested.  But it is up and running now.
